I found him in the shadows that grow longer with the passing day,
Often in sunlight too, streaming through the windows.
Sometimes in the sparkle of a crystal, so pure and bright,
Or in the bustling street, glowing in the afternoon light.
I fooled myself thinking that I lost him as I sat in the café one eve,
Surely, there he was, at the tip of my coffee spoon,
Spilling in the music from the street nearby…
I knew then I could not rid myself of him,
And so, he grew and grew, swelling inside me till my heart could burst.
